This magnificent plaque was presented to key music executives by Nirvana’s record label, DGC Records, to commemorate the quadruple-platinum status of the group’s major-label debut album Nevermind. This record is recognized as one of the most important recordings of the 20th century. This is the official Record Industry Association of America (RIAA) sales award, and features the organization’s special hologram seal. The centerpiece is the iconic image of a baby in a swimming pool from the album cover, flanked by four mini-CD covers, each with a raised brushed-aluminum plate with ” 1 Million, ” ” 2 Million, ” etc. The raised inscription plate is also brushed aluminum and carries the RIAA hologram seal.
