Madonna Gold Disc – Like a Virgin RIAA Certified Award to Warner Bros Records – Sire Records. This gold award states 500,000 sales, which would have been late 1984 or early 1985. This style of RIAA plaque pre-dates the hologram plaque which was used in 1986 onward. In 1992 the wording changed to include sales of CD’s and cassettes. This has the strip-plate type plaque that was used between 1982 and 1985. Hence, this dates to when the record first hit gold status. This is a very rare.
