This is in authentic RIAA gold sales award to commemorate the sale of more than 500,000 copies of the Anthrax… Island/megaforce records album persistence of time. These awards were only presented to record executives and people that contributed to the distribution and promotion of the records. They were not mass produced and Are difficult to find. The award is in good overall condition with the exception of a few light scratches on the Plexiglas and frame but nothing serious. The one thing that is odd about this award is that in certain angles and lighting you can see half dollar size circles seemingly protruding from the gold record. (I tried to illustrate this in one of the photos) Not sure if this is due to the way that the record was secured to the matting or what the deal is, but l Believe that this is the way that it originally came.
