Talking Heads Fear of Music RIAA Gold Record Award
Authentic and incredibly rare RIAA gold record award for the Talking Heads third album “Fear of Music”, presented to the late Edward Germano, former owner of the Hit Factory, the legendary NYC studio where parts of the album were recorded. The album was certified platinum on September 17, 1985. This is “flower hologram” style award, the correct vintage from that era. It’s all original and is in very good condition for its age. It shows regular wear and random dings and scuffs plus some scratches on the plexiglass as you expect on a 40+ year old award. It is not “new” but if you’re familiar with genuine awards from the 1980’s, you should be very pleased by the condition. This is a true industry award, presented only to the artist and those who work closely with them like the managers, key record label employees and disc jockeys. This is a part of music history. Award measures approximately 21″ by 17″ and is 1-1/4 in depth. Please ask questions if you have any as this item is non-returnable.
