Extremely rare, vintage OFFICIAL AUTHENTIC RIAA-CERTIFIED Gold Record Award for the classic 1989 Keith Whitley album I Wonder Do You Think Of Me. The award measures approx. 21.5″ x 17″. Original RIAA awards for Keith are EXTREMELY difficult to find and rarely come up for sale. The album was presented to and acquired from the estate of the late Mary Martin in Nashville. Martin is an important figure in rock and country music history and originally recommended that RCA Records sign Keith to a recording contract. She was also a longtime friend of Emmylou Harris and signed her to her first recording contract with Warner Bros. Martin was also an early manager of Leonard Cohen and Van Morrison, and was responsible for first introducing Bob Dylan to The Band in the 1960s when she worked for Dylan’s manager at the time. Condition (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY). The award is intact and in very good+ condition with light wear. There are some very light scuff marks on the glass but they are small.
