In Very Good condition, with some wear to frame, especially at the corners. Heart was and is a truly special band led by Ann & Nancy Wilson. These two amazing ladies were rock-n-roll trailblazers as a result of their talent, vision, strength and courage. They created music together when it was difficult for two women to do so in the music industry, which was dominated by male performers leading bands. As a result, this Heart Dreamboat Annie RIAA Gold Record Award reflects a very significant part of music history from the seminal 1970s: the emergence of a rock band fronted by two women. One of the things that makes an RIAA Gold LP Award an awesome artifact is its unique label. Take a look at this Mushroom Records label. You dont see many of them out there in the collecting universe. Of course, what makes a piece of music memorabilia truly special is the story behind the story. And this one is fascinating. The recipient of this award, Mr. Don Anti, served as a record industry executive. Heart later had a well-publicized business dispute with Mushroom Records, the label that released the LP, which makes this award all the more interesting and rare. Ann & Nancy were not afraid to take on Mushroom Records when they felt they had been wronged. Ann & Nancy prevailed and the rest, as they say, is rock history. So, this award is particularly meaningful in that it is a reminder of the guts that Heart had to kick some ass in a very tough business when they felt they were treated poorly and with disrespect. Way to go, Ann & Nancy! Is the debut studio album by American rock band Heart. At the time, the band was based in Vancouver, British Columbia; the album was recorded in Vancouver and first released in Canada by the local label Mushroom Records. It was released in the United States on February 14, 1976, through the subsidiary of Mushroom Records in Los Angeles. The album contains three commercially successful singles, two of which became staples on FM radio. The success of the album indirectly led to a break between the band and label. The first cracks appeared when the group tried to renegotiate their royalty rate to be more in keeping with what they thought a platinum band should be earning. The relationship broke down completely when the label bought a full-page ad in Rolling Stone mocked up like a National Enquirer front page. The ad used a photo similar to the one on the. Album cover, showing Ann and Nancy back to back with bare shoulders. The caption under the photo read “It Was Only Our First Time”. The band had not been consulted and was furious with the double meaning of the caption. In the 1980s, after Mushroom Records folded, Capitol Records. Acquired the rights to the album and re-released it in 1986. The item “Heart Dreamboat Annie RIAA Gold Record Award Ann & Nancy Wilson” is in sale since Friday, September 4, 2020.
